Numerical simulation and entropy dissipative cure of the carbuncle instability for the shallow water circular hydraulic jump

چکیده

We investigate the numerical artifact known as a carbuncle, in solution of shallow water equations. propose new Riemann solver that is based on local measure entropy residual and aims to avoid carbuncles while maintaining high accuracy. challenging test problem for codes, consisting steady circular hydraulic jump can be physically unstable. show methods are prone either suppress instability completely or form carbuncles. existing cures carbuncle. In our experiments, only proposed method able unphysical without suppressing physical instability.
